Medical Facilities |
||
| Contrary to common belief in the people from foreign countries, China does not suffer from lack of medical facilities. The facilities to be found in Shanghai are most certainly amongst the best in China. Many companies provide membership card to certain international medical centers in Shanghai, which possess top Western and Chinese doctors and they also have their own facilities for all but major surgeries. When major surgery is required, these medical centers will link with the major local hospital and provide full medical support wherever needed. Although in the very rare cases where top medical treatment cannot be obtained in Shanghai, patients can be transferred for a short trip to Hong Kong; we must stress that usually all medical facilities and services are available in Shanghai. The main hospitals in Shanghai also have their own expats departments and some great hospitals. Hua Dong, Rui Jin and Hua Shan, have their own separate department/floor exclusively for the treatment of expatriates. Shanghai has over 80 local hospitals, but foreigners are technically only permitted to go to those hospitals with designated foreigners’ clinics listed below.
